Share the Magic Holiday Photo Contest

Show us your seasonal spirit and festive cheer! Our holiday photo contest starting from December 1.

Join in the festive fun with our holiday photo contest! Starting December 1, residents can share their favourite holiday moments at Engage.MapleRidge.ca/ShareTheMagic. The top three photos will each receive a $100 prize and be featured on City social media channels. Voting runs throughout December, and winners will be announced January 9.

Winter Fest

Winter Fest in Downtown Maple Ridge

Celebrate the magic of the season at Winter Fest, Maple Ridge’s annual holiday celebration! The downtown core will transform into a festival wonderland where families and friends can enjoy:

  • Christmas in the Park
    • A heartwarming Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony
    • The iconic bells lining 224th Street – a cherished Maple Ridge tradition
    • Photos with Santa and the Grinch to capture the holiday spirit
    • Hands-on seasonal crafts for all ages
    • Tasty treats from your favourite food trucks
  • Christmas Market
    •  A cozy Christmas market full of local treasures

Whether you’re shopping for unique gifts or soaking in the holiday cheer, Winter Fest is the perfect way to kick off the season. Don’t miss out on this joyful holiday tradition!  

This event is proudly hosted by the Maple Ridge Christmas Festival Society and Downtown Maple Ridge Business Improvement Association. Donations are accepted to support the Friends in Need Food Bank and Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows Christmas Hamper Society.

Santa Claus Parade

Santa Claus Parade

Get ready for holiday cheer and twinkling lights at the Maple Ridge Santa Clause Parade! This beloved annual tradition brings the community together for a magical evening of festival floats, music, and merriment! Bundle up, grab a hot chocolate, and wave hello to Santa as he makes his grand entrance to kick off the holiday season in style!

Parade Safety First!

We’re so excited to celebrate with you at the Santa Claus Parade—let’s keep it safe and fun for everyone! Please remember:

  • Stay behind barricades and caution tape at all times
  • Keep a close eye on your little ones
  • No running into the road—floats and vehicles may not be able to stop quickly
  • Listen to parade volunteers and safety personnel along the route – they’re here to help!
  • Please don’t litter—help us keep our community clean and festive!

The Nutcracker

December 13 & 14, 3 PM, The ACT Arts Centre

See the beloved holiday story come to life on The ACT Mainstage in a whimsical presentation by Ballet Victoria. A timeless musical score, beautifully imagined and executed choreography, brilliantly costumed dancers, and imaginative staging make this the ideal festive family outing.

Shred, Share, Stoked

December 14, 6:00PM–8:00PM, Greg Moore Youth Centre

Annual Youth led skateboarding competition . All proceeds will go to help support a local holiday hamper. Register at MapleRidge.ca/Register by phone at 604-467-7422. Cost is $10.

CPKC Holiday Train

December 19, 7:00PM, Port Haney Station

Join us at the Port Haney West Coast Express Station on Friday December 19 for a festive evening of music, lights, and holiday cheer! This event is hosted by the Friends in Need Food Bank – don’t forget to bring a cash donation or non-perishable item!

Event Schedule:

  • 7:00 PM – Arrive early to grab a good spot and enjoy the festive atmosphere
  • 7:50 PM – Welcome the magical arrival of the CPKC Holiday Train
  • 8:00 PM – 8:30 PM – Enjoy a FREE live performance by the Bare Naked Ladies
  • Bundle up, bring your holiday spirit, and celebrate the season with your community!

Getting to the CPKC Holiday Train Event

Make your way to the Port Haney Station by taking a festive stroll down 224 street – also known as Candy Cane Lane! Park downtown and walk through the Pedestrian Tunnel to reach the event site. Please note that accessible parking is available at the event site for those with valid permits. All other attendees are asked to arrive on foot and enjoy the holiday atmosphere along the way!

Tree of Memories

Starting December 5, Maple Ridge Cemetery

Beginning Dec. 5, residents are invited to place a thoughtful ornament on the memorial tree at Maple Ridge Cemetery in honour of a loved one. Decorations may be hung from Dec. 5 to Jan. 5. For details, email Cemetery@MapleRidge.ca.
